Rita Symons worked at Birmingham St Mary's Hospice in an interim capacity as Director of Future Projects for 6 months during 2016. This provided additional leadership capacity during one vacancy and maternity leave on our Executive Team. Rita was able to conduct a consultancy role whilst also contributing at Board level as part of our Executive Team. She initiated Programme Management in the organisation and established a framework to see this through after her 6 month term concluded.
In addition Rita provided coaching for two Executive Team members which also supported the induction of one new member of the team. Rita successfully deputised for me in a number of senior partnership relationships and enabled new collaborative arrangements to be initiated.

In truth I was almost dismissive of coaching, initially approaching with what could be described as scepticism.
